Our Story

The positive power that pictures and words wield! Not long ago, I visited my uncle to explore my heritage on my mom's side. He showed me a journal my Grandpa Tom wrote six months after his wife, Agnes, died in 1934. Grandpa's written voice made me feel I knew them both. In those pages, I learned of his generous spirit and his deep love for his wife, his children, and his life. A piece of him is very much alive 70+ years later, because of what he wrote down.

I think everyone deserves to be celebrated and remembered with such love. Now, when they're around to best appreciate it.

I spent a few years sharing my enthusiasm for "scrapbook therapy." Everyone agreed they would love to have their precious pictures and family stories captured in albums. The problem was, most didn't have the time, the money to invest in all the supplies and tools, and/or the creative streak to brave creating their own pages.

I've loved photos and photo albums ever since taking my first pictures with a Brownie camera on our family vacation to Yellowstone at age 10. Why? Because they give me joy. I love pulling an album off the shelf and curling up on the couch to smile, once again, at my life and the people to whom I owe those happy times.

When a friend introduced me to scrapbooking, I especially loved the idea of journaling my thoughts about the photos… about what made them important to me. We all keep pictures of the best things in life -- our favorite people, doing our favorite things, during our favorite times. Scrapbooks are an especially comforting, lovely way to capture and share those pictures and thoughts.

The Men of my Heart
Kelly, Kevin & Quigley

I thought, "There's got to be a way to get lots more of these uplifting albums into lots more hands." The inspiration for how to help people quickly and easily create their own meaningful albums finally came -- and Albums from the Heart was born.

It's been one little miracle after another seeing this company fly into existence. My special love and thanks to my marvelous husband, Kevin, who not only trusts in and supports me (emotionally, technically, and with the big bucks) but who is so darn adorable!

Forty more friends, customers, and co-workers participated in extensive focus group meetings. Their input significantly shaped the direction and detail for Albums from the Heart. My genuine thanks to each of them for their encouragement, guidance, and ideas!

Here's wishing us all the determination and inspiration to pursue, listen to, and act on our dreams!
